What's Happening With the Guild?
Good things! In April 2007, we began an exhibition partnership with Angel Mounds to provide them high
quality local artwork for their gallery space.  Their staff has welcomed us with open arms and we really
appreciate their hospitality.  We are also happy to announce our upcoming Audubon Park Museum show
“Tri-State Landmarks”. This will be a “juried for awards” exhibit focusing on depictions of well-known
landmarks in our area.
We are very grateful for our sponsors and the display space our exhibition venues have given us over the
years and to ensure our scheduling of future shows in those venues, we are increasing our exhibition
standards to continue providing them with consistently high quality exhibits. For example, proper framing and
professional looking presentation is a MUST. When entering our work for public display, it is important that
we submit our very best work and that it be presented in the most professional way we can afford since our
presentation represents not only our own commitment to quality, but on the guild and the venue as well. As
you may know, marketing fine art is a very competitive business and artists wanting to sell their artwork must
work hard even to be noticed. Only by consistently offering our best work can we hope to obtain repeated
sales. We encourage both professional & emerging artists to continually improve your techniques and
presentation while at the same time remaining true to your own original style.

OUTDOOR ART FESTIVAL
We are not sponsoring an outdoor art fair this year. Instead, we encourage our members to apply to the
2008 Haynie’s Corner Art Festival.  It is a nice venue with lots of visitors. Just make sure to apply by the June
